From By-Product to Benefit – A Better Use for Organic Waste.

From organic waste, to organic riches

Our Compost

We produce high-quality compost from locally sourced organic materials, including garden green waste. Processed under controlled conditions, our compost meets strict quality and maturity standards to suit a wide range of growing systems. The end product improves soil biology, boosts nutrient cycling, and supports healthy plant growth making it ideal for everything from home gardens to orchards, vineyards, and commercial landscapers.

Waste Solutions

We divert organic waste from landfill including green waste, food scraps, processing residues, and other biodegradable materials. By managing these waste streams responsibly, we reduce methane emissions, protect waterways, and support the circular economy. BioRich works with councils, processors, and businesses to design practical, compliant solutions that suit each site and material type. All recoverable organic matter is processed into high-value compost at our certified facilities returning nutrients and carbon back to the soil.

About Us

BioRich was founded in 2004 by Hawke’s Bay grower Mike Glazebrook, who began composting to support his organic cropping operation. What started as a practical on-farm solution is now a family-run business focused on recycling organic waste at scale. We operate two composting sites in Hawke’s Bay and our goal is simple - to prevent organic material from becoming pollution and instead return it to the soil where it improves structure, fertility, and long-term productivity.
